Participants will examine and work through criteria, policy, problem-solving, decision-making and strategies for collecting, using, disclosing and protecting personal information within your public body in alignment with the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP). Training will address the impact of Alberta’s new Access to Information Act and Protection of Privacy Act. Certificates of Completion will be provided to participants.

Participants will focus on the processes, problem-solving and decision-making involved in administering the public’s right of access to information in your public body as a requirement under the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP). Training will address the impact of Alberta’s new Access to Information Act and Protection of Privacy Act. Certificates of Completion will be provided to participants.

This half-day workshop will be presented live on-line. The course will present key principles and rules of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) along with scenarios and examples relevant to the world of governing and elected officials.
