The Opportunity

Cenera is growing! The on-going expansion of our Human Resources Consulting Practice has created a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Senior Consultant, Learning and People Development to join our team. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to continuously apply, learn and develop a repertoire of skills and experience in a variety of areas in HR, while supporting multiple clients and working on a diverse array of projects and issues simultaneously.


The Senior Consultant, Learning & People Development will develop and deliver customized organizational learning solutions to support our clients’ employee, team, and leader development, change management, and engagement initiatives. The focus for the role will include learning and development consulting, facilitation, and training design and delivery. Contributing to the ongoing development of the HR Consulting Practice, the Senior Consultant will manage and develop client relationships, project delivery, and growth. The Senior Consultant, Learning and People Development will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Learning & Development Consulting

  • Provide insight, analysis and recommendations on design challenges, performance and behaviour gaps, and change interventions through consultation, research, and analysis of data.
  • Engage and collaborate with clients to clarify organizational requirements, set priorities for learning and development initiatives, and define required learning outcomes.
  • Support Cenera’s HR Consulting team to identify learning and development interventions, design innovative solutions and collaborate around the implementation of initiatives.

Program & Curriculum Design

  • Contribute to the development of training programs by establishing standardized methods, tools and templates for assessment, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Design and develop creative, high-quality, interactive learning content for remote and in-person training, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches (i.e. human-centered design principles, action learning, synchronous/asynchronous design, coaching circles, etc.)
  • Evaluate and measure ROI of learning programs
  • Areas of focus: leadership and management development; team building; cultural transformation; change management; competency development; and coaching/mentoring.

Facilitation & Training

  • Deliver interactive and engaging training/facilitation using a variety of methodologies.
  • Manage the delivery of programs to ensure achievement of intended learning outcomes.
  • Deliver one-on-one sessions, and facilitate training via live classroom, online learning, and webinars.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop strong client partnerships, building high levels of professional credibility and trust.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality service and advice to support the delivery of client business objectives.

Business Opportunity Development

  • Identify business opportunities with new, existing and potential corporate clients.
  • Facilitate introductions to appropriate Cenera team members.
  • Support proposal writing, in collaboration with the Practice Area Partner.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will derive satisfaction from challenge, learning, and growth. The deliverables of the Senior Consultant, Learning and People Development will change daily based on the needs and requests of our clients and an ideal candidate will thrive on managing multiple priorities and projects at once.


  • Bachelor’s degree in adult education, human resources, organizational development or related field.
  • 7+ years’ experience in design, development, and delivery of leadership, management, organizational and team effectiveness programming.
  • Qualification in psychometric instruments (e.g., MBTI, CliftonStrengths, Personality Dimensions, DiSC, EQ-i, etc.).
  • Demonstrated expertise in facilitation, coaching, change management methodology, succession planning, organizational development and similar areas.
  • Highly skilled in training, facilitating, and presenting to a variety of audience sizes and types.
  • Knowledgeable in best practices and current trends in adult learning and technology-based learning.
  • Knowledgeable in instructional design tools, processes and methodologies.
  • Project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to deliver projects within scope, budget and timeline.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office Suite).
  • Experience managing projects, initiatives and relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working within a management consulting capacity is an asset.
  • Experience with equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives is an asset.
  • E-learning and/or LMS experience is an asset.
