Position Overview

Russo Packaging is seeking an individual to take a lead role within the core of its company. The Customer Service and Operations Coordinator will work directly with the President and learn all aspects of the business to enable the President to focus on special projects, customer relationship building, and business development. This role will liaise with all departments within the company as well as customers, suppliers, and carriers, becoming a “go-to person” with knowledge of the entire operation. The role is also responsible for optimizing processes, identifying and resolving issues that exist at any level of the business, and ensuring that staff have access to and follow any operational guidelines necessary for the smooth functioning and success of the business. This role will be looked upon as the steady, “stay-at-home”, core of the operation.

Responsibilities

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with customers and exceeding their expectations. We are a customer focused organization, and we endeavor to never let our customer down.
  • Build and promote strong, and long-lasting supplier relationships.  Our suppliers are truly our partners and the backbone of our business, fostering excellent relationships is critical.
  • Work with customers on artwork designs and communicate with precision to our supplier graphics teams for final creation of correct and approved artwork files.
  • Create purchase proposals for customers.
  • Organize and track shipping schedules.  Keep customers informed on delivery process, delays, and any issues.
  • Communicate with our import broker and carriers to ensure smooth and on time customer delivery.
  • Communicate with warehouse staff, keeping up to date on quantity and location of stock inventory items; facilitate and organize stock orders and shipments.
  • Support the sales team by ensuring that product specs and costing are accurate when quoting and ordering.
  • Keep customer order sheets up to date so they always have complete, up to date information at their fingertips.

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Customer Service/Logistics/Purchasing.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service, communication, and organizational skills both internally and externally.
  • Team player that is passionate about the company and our products.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Must have good computer knowledge and skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Working Conditions

Candidate must be flexible in their work hours. While the majority of work will be completed within regular business hours, some work tasks will require completion in the evening hours from home, due to overseas supplier and customer relationships, as well as occasional off hours logistics demands. Flexibility in daily work schedule and telecommuting is accepted when mutually agreed upon by the employee and employer.

Occasional international travel may be required, particularly during the training period.

Daily work hours will be spent at the Russo Packaging office in Old Towne, Okotoks.
