Steve has been described as an authentic and non-judgemental career coach and consultant who listens intently and asks questions that require thought and honesty with oneself. He brings a calm demeanour and a dedication to exceptionally high levels of client satisfaction and care while assisting individuals in the next stages of their journey. Steve is passionate about working with clients on a number of levels including facilitating the achievement of results-oriented goals, finding the next opportunity, experiencing one of life’s “transitions”, developing self-awareness, or just plain finding peace “in the moment.”
Steve has a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics from York University in Toronto. He also has over 20 years of successful business operations and management experience from front-line to senior management roles. This was superseded by a 3-year self-imposed sabbatical from the “world of work” leading to the development of a new approach to life and career. Out of this has grown an ability to support and collaborate with people while they assess their current situation and deliberate on options to consider in moving forward with both their personal lives and careers.
Steve brings over seven years of experience in career coaching and consulting specializing in working with professionals and mid-level managers. He moved to Calgary from Ottawa in the fall of 2012 and started at Cenera almost immediately. Client comments and feedback are available on his LinkedIn profile at ca.linkedin.com/in/cutlersteve.
In his spare time, Steve has enjoyed being involved in numerous youth development initiatives including basketball. He is the former President of the Goulbourn Basketball Association and has coached teams at all levels for over 15 years including a Provincial Championship team in 2007. He also enjoys the challenge and solitude of annual canoe trips.
