James joined Cenera as an associate in 2005 and works primarily in our privacy and information management practice area. James is enthusiastic, positive and down-to-earth when dealing with clients. He has a depth of knowledge and credentials as a records manager and privacy educator. He is passionate about the role information rights plays in society and how it impacts organizational effectiveness and citizen rights.
For over 10 years, James has been teaching in the Information Access and Protection of Privacy certification program at the University of Alberta. This role keeps him continuously learning in the field of access to information and privacy legislation and of information management.
James earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Archival Studies from the University of British Columbia. He holds a Certified Access to Information Privacy Professional – Master’s certification and is a member of the Association of Canadian Archivists and the Archives Society of Alberta. He has also been a contributing writer to the Canadian Association of Professional Access and Privacy Administrators newsletter.
A loyal sports fan and humanitarian
James is a proponent of animal rights and is and active member of the Edmonton Humane Society. You’ll often find him walking along Edmonton’s river valley with his wife and four-legged fur-child – Bailey. An avid sports fan, James often chats with friends about the recent performance of his favorite hockey team, the Edmonton Oilers.
